His birth in Lumbini, his enlightenment, Nirvana, at Bodh Gaya
And his passing, Parinirvana, in Kushinagar.
A day that calls humanity to embrace compassion,
To awaken the spirit in peace and mindfulness.
For peace alone can change the perspective,
For goodwill can bring more power to nobility —
To walk the path of righteousness,
Lighting lamps for spiritual bliss.
On this full moon night in the Hindu month of Vaisakha,
May we reflect, and let humanity shine in every devotee —
In the freshness of nature,
In the divinity of souls.
With abundant love and affection,
may we be a world of serenity.
With blooming buds that blossom to a newness of being refined,
Where silence becomes the teacher and breath becomes the prayer.
Where footsteps tread gently on the earth, leaving no scar,
Where the foundation is laid on forgiving and letting go.
Where the lotus rises through mud,
unbound, untouched, aware.
And every heart remembers it carries the Bodhi tree within.
